Over three days — from February 23 to 26 Israel killed 268 Palestinians and injuried another 418 in Gaza. Over 90 were killed in the last 24 hours with another 164 injuries. Israel’s ongoing genocide has taken the lives of some 29,782 Palestinian and caused injuries to another 70,043. As disease and starvation continue rapidily spread, these numbers are sure to boom.

Aid and health workers that provide much needed assistance and relief have been perpetually risking their lives. On February 22, a UN staff member and his family were killed in an airstrike in Deir Al Balah. Additionally, a volunteer paramedic was killed on 23 February. Since October 7, Israel has killed 161 UN staff members. Healthcare facilities have been significantly impacted, with WHO reporting 378 attacks affecting 98 health facilities and ambulances up to 12 February. As Israel has demonstrated, eliminating the indigenous population requires methodically dismantling the healthcare system.

Israel’s imposed fuel shortage is critically affecting hospitals' operational capacities. Northern Gaza's hospitals, including Al Ahli Arab hospital, are running dangerously low on fuel, affecting essential services like dialysis and intensive care. The Al Helal Al Emirati maternity hospital in Rafah is struggling to cope with a surge in deliveries amid a lack of basic resources, leading to a high rate of newborn deaths and complications for pregnant women.

Internally displaced persons (IDPs) sheltering in schools have also faced attacks, with UNRWA reporting deaths and injuries due to gunfire and artillery fire. As of 24 February, at least 403 IDPs in UNRWA shelters were killed, and 1,385 injured.

Several incidents between February 23 and 25 highlight Israel’s violent intensity, with deadly airstrikes on residential areas and schools, resulting in numerous casualties, including children. Palestinian Red Crescent Socity (PRCS) evacuation efforts from Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis highlight the severe medical and humanitarian crisis, with critical patients, including newborns, being transported under dire conditions.

The economic impact of Israel’s assault is devastating, with the World Bank reporting an over 80% drop in Gaza's GDP in the fourth quarter of 2023 and a 24% decrease for the year. The Palestinian economy faces one of its most significant shocks, with nearly every resident of Gaza expected to live in poverty in the short term. The West Bank economy has also suffered, with a 22% decline due to increased restrictions and a decrease in work permits for Palestinian workers to work in Israel — further exacerbating the crisis. As you can see by the data points, restrictions and incursions have remained pretty steady across the West Bank. Today, Feb 27, Israel killed at least four Palestinians in the West Bank.

Progress on some tech systems has been slow at the GSC. Daily grassroots organizing across Palestine, while generally difficult, has been extremely trying since October 7th. Everybody is worn out and extremely taxed emotionally. Some of our long-time partners have decided to lay low on the activism because of increased threats to them and their families. This has caused some delays, but we are moving forward with our convictions and knowing that a free and liberated future awaits us.

This data is aggregated mostly from Palestinian resources, namely the Negotiations Affairs Department. It represents but a small cross-section of the violence intentionally enacted by Israel's program of indigenous erasure. It doesn't account for every sexual harassment or assault at Israel's checkpoints, the looting that happens during raids, or every psychological threat the Israeli state carries out, whether that be direct phone calls to individuals and their families or Israeli MKs cheering on genocide on live tv, radio, and print.
