This data set runs from 08.13.2025 to 09.12.2025, covering a 30-day period. This data is for the 30 days prior to and including the publish date, not Year-to-Date. As the data points out, across Jerusalem and the West Bank, displacement has been trending upwards. This, of course, is by design.

This data only reflects administrative home demolitions in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. This doesn't include the mass demolitions of homes in the Gaza Strip, or in places like the Naqab or the Galilee.

West Bank on Fire

With calls to annex the West Bank enjoying broad support from Israeli politicians, the violence across the region has heightened. Over the last week, four Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces across the West Bank, including two 14-year-old boys. A 58-year-old Palestinian man was fatally shot at the Al Murabba'a checkpoint near Nablus by Israeli soldiers. In Balata refugee camp, Israeli troops killed a 25-year-old man who simply opened his rooftop door adjacent to a house under military siege. Most tragically, two Palestinian boys, both aged 14, were shot dead at the entrance to Jenin refugee camp when residents attempted to check on their homes following news of an Israeli military withdrawal. It’s unlikely that any of the Israelis who killed these Palestinians will face any semblance of justice.

Early this week, Israeli forces imposed severe movement restrictions affecting approximately 40,000 Palestinians in the Biddu Barrier enclave, comprising nine villages in northwestern Jerusalem. The enclave remains under near-complete closure, with the main access road gate opening only briefly once daily. Israeli forces have erected earth mounds in order to sever secondary roads, leaving only one main route accessible primarily for military use. These restrictions have halted education as teachers cannot access schools, while emergency medical evacuations face significant delays. The Biddu Medical Center has been converted to a 24-hour emergency facility despite limited capacity.

Fifty-five Palestinian-owned structures were demolished for lacking Israeli-issued building permits, including 15 residences, 35 agricultural structures, and five water/sanitation facilities. These demolitions displaced 57 people, including 28 children, and affected over 160 people's livelihoods, including the demolition of nine structures in the South 'Anata Bedouin community near the E1 settlement plan area, and forced self-demolition by a Silwan family of eight to avoid additional fines.

Israeli military operations have continued across northern West Bank cities, with concurrent raids in multiple Jenin villages. Nearly 20 Palestinian families (approximately 100 people) were evacuated from buildings near Tulkarm refugee camp with only two hours' notice, following the designation of a new military zone encompassing parts of Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps. Droves of Palestinians were arrested and detained during the process.

Twenty-nine settler attacks were documented this week, injuring 24 Palestinians and damaging property, including 30 trees, 12 vehicles, four houses, and various infrastructure. In Khallet Addaba', settlers attacked residents with knife-fitted sticks, injuring 14 Palestinians, including seven children. In Hebron, armed settlers forced a Palestinian family from their vehicle at gunpoint, assaulting them and preventing medical teams from reaching them for four hours.

Israeli settlers began occupying a building in Hebron's H2 area, marking the first case where the Custodian allocated property outside established settlement areas to settlers. This raises concerns about additional movement restrictions in an area already heavily constrained by the state’s policy of supporting settlers and their settlement projects at the direct expense of Palestinian residents.

The 2025-2026 school year began amid severe challenges, with over 4,000 children in the northern West Bank unable to return to classrooms as 10 UNRWA schools remain closed due to "Operation Iron Wall." Eighty-four schools face demolition or stop-work orders, threatening education for 12,855 students. (Organizations like Regavim, which receive substantial funding through US-based charities, have used that money to advocate for the demolition of Palestinian schools) In East Jerusalem, 800 children remain affected by the forced closure of six UNRWA schools, while new regulations require all schools to adopt the Israeli curriculum despite a persistent shortage of classrooms.

These cumulative restrictions, demolitions, violence, and educational disruptions continue to severely impact Palestinian daily life, livelihoods, and fundamental services across the West Bank.

The Israeli forces rounded up young men in the dozens during a raid in Tulkarem.

Recent Home Demolitions

September 10, 2025

Location: Tubas (West Bank - Area A)

Description: Israeli forces demolished on punitive grounds a residential house in Tubas city. Around 5:00 AM, Israeli forces, along with the Israeli civil administration, exploded and demolished one floor of a two-story residential house, displacing a family comprising three people. The affected family received a demolition order in July and consulted a lawyer, who advised them not to pursue legal action as it would likely lead to no practical results. This is how colonial courts are designed.

Location: Shu'fat Refugee Camp (East Jerusalem)

Description: A Palestinian family was forced to self-demolish their residential structure in Shu'fat Refugee Camp, East Jerusalem, due to the lack of an Israeli-issued building permit. As a result, two refugee households comprising 13 people, including eight children, were affected. The demolished structure, approximately 300m², was the second floor of a two-story building. It was in the final stages of construction and consisted of two apartments. According to the family, they received a demolition order in 2024 and had appointed a lawyer to obtain a building permit. However, in August 2025, the Israeli courts rejected all appeals. They issued a final demolition order, forcing the family to demolish their structure to avoid the high costs of demolition by Israeli forces and further fines.

Location: Aqqaba (West Bank - Area A)

Description: Israeli forces demolished on punitive grounds four structures, including two residential houses in Aqqaba town, northeast of Tubas city. The first house was a two-story building covering an area of 260 square meters and constructed of concrete. It also had a water well with a capacity of 50 cubic meters, which was demolished. The second house was another two-story residential building, measuring 140 square meters and also made of concrete. It was surrounded by a wall that was 80 meters long. In addition, Israeli bulldozers demolished a water well with a capacity of 40 cubic meters and uprooted around six trees, including fig, lemon, olive, and greengage. These houses belong to two female-headed households, including five children who lost their only home. The two families reported that they received a demolition order in August of 2024 and consulted a lawyer, who advised them not to pursue legal action.

September 9, 2025

Location: Beit 'Awwa (West Bank - Area B)

Description: Israeli civil administration, along with Israeli forces, punitively demolished with explosives an apartment in a four-story building in area B in Beit 'Awwa. The demolished apartment belongs to Thabet Masalmeh, a man who allegedly helped another Palestinian carry out a shooting attack on an Israeli bus on road 60 near Bethlehem in December 2024, which resulted in the killing of an Israeli child and wounded another three people. He was arrested a few days after the attack, and both men are now held in Israeli prisons. After midnight, Israeli forces raided the town of Beit 'Awwa and closed all the roads leading to the house, preventing movement, and started planting explosives in the walls of the targeted residential apartment after evacuating the whole building. Around 5:00 AM, the explosives were detonated, which resulted in the destruction of the targeted apartment on the second floor. As a result, a family of five children and their mother is displaced, while another family comprising eight people, including two children, is affected. Another two under-construction apartments on the third and fourth floors sustained damage. The structural safety of the building is pending a technical assessment.
