Correction, Substack Announcement

Dear friends,

Like everyone, we make mistakes. Yesterday, we misreported that in the days since the implementation of the ceasefire in Gaza, Israel killed 1,664 Palestinians in Gaza. Rather, this number represents the dead recovered in Gaza over those days, both those killed since the initiation of the ceasefire and those who were killed earlier, and their bodies were recovered and identified throughout this period. This means that despite the ceasefire, the number of Palestinians murdered during the more than two years of Israeli aggression against Gaza continues to grow as bodies are recovered from under the rubble and from Israel’s colonial prisons, and continue to be identified. Sometimes, interpreting local data can result in confusion, particularly in this case, as the violence reported has been so lethal and protracted.

It's important to note that despite our error, the number of Palestinians killed since the initiation of the ceasefire is at least 236. This is still significant, as it represents direct deaths — executions that have continued despite an ostensible end to Israel’s attacks.
