Would you support new journalism from Palestine?
Old City of Nablus

Dear friends,

At the end of 2025, we launched a Substack, The Call, as part of a concerted effort to write down many of the important political conversations, nuanced analyses, and distinctive insights we want to share with others. In this way, we've expanded on our weekly data reviews and personal notes, providing weekly updates from a rotating list of collective members and drawing from each person's unique experiences and expertise.

You can sign up to become a paid subscriber for only $12/month to receive all of our articles and updates as soon as they are available each week. This money supports our collective's authors, as we all work collaboratively to write, reflect, and edit each other's work. Donors who are already contributing $12/month or more to the Good Shepherd Collective automatically receive a paid subscription.

If you're not able to become a paid subscriber today, you can subscribe for free to make sure you receive notifications for the weekly data updates as well as articles and personal notes, which all become free and available to everyone two weeks after their initial publication.

Check out some of our recent pieces below!

Newly open access: Protective Presence and the Machinery of Control by Cody O'Rourke and Lara Kilani

Data update: Several Killed, 700+ Displaced, 100,000 Without Water in the West Bank by our Data Team

A popular, open-access article: The Israelification of the World? by Bana Abu Zuluf

Paid subscribers only: Jewish Currents Gave Omar Shakir the Hero's Exit He Didn't Deserve by Cody O'Rourke and Ameed Faleh (for paid subscribers)

A piece I'm especially proud of: Liberation is Not Integration by Lara Kilani

Until liberation and return,

Lara Kilani

The Good Shepherd Collective rejects the model of large grants from liberal institutions because of the ways it can shape the work. Instead, we premise our work in the financial investments from individuals who believe in the future we're trying to build. Consider becoming a monthly donor.
